Good for reading in a child's spare time -

If compared to the Songbird and Oxford Reading Tree collections, I wouldn't recommend. These books are too similar and kids can't learn much more than from the others two.

It is ok to buy if you want some fun reads.

Brilliant set of books for early readers. Good value at less than 50p each and comes in a plastic folder...

I like these books... but -

I can be kind of pedantic about things. I don't like the fact that these books are not all the same size - it messes up my bookcase =)
However, as books go, they are great. Level 1 and 2 are really easy. The first day we had these books my boy read eight in one go whilst I was cooking (not even 30 mins). I had to tell him to stop, otherwise we'd have no books left.
These do then go on to become a bit more difficult and helps them gain confidence in reading. A great little set.

Recommended -

Lovely selection of books that my son loves. He is at blue level at school (reception) and started reading them few weeks ago. Recommended and actually we love the different size of the books - I tend to carry books in my handbag (as he loves to read while in the car) and the smallest ones are perfect!
