Headteachers who are vampire rats; demon dinner ladies; baby aliens... They all appear in these six hilarious school stories from the Blue Peter Award-winning Pamela Butchart.

Zany, crazy and illustrated by Thomas Flintham, these five books will have children laughing all the way through as Izzy and her friends uncover all sorts of startling secrets. Set in a primary school, their suspicions of the new head are raised when they realise he has his blinds drawn all day. Then he bans garlic bread at lunchtime...

Matilde is the new girl at school and Izzy has been told to look after her, but then she realises Matilde might just be hiding a secret - a spy secret! There are also tongue-in-cheek retellings of Shakespeare's plays for children of all ages to enjoy.

Absorbing -

My 8-year-old son read one of these in a day and half way through another one. I can hear him laughing away and it's great. He loves to read and these books are a great set to his growing collection.

He can't wait to take them to school and show his teacher. A must for any school library, I think!

Amazing books -

Bought this collection for my 6-year-old after he picked up one of the books in the library and loved it. He's addicted. Can read it relatively easily by himself and loves the stories and the way it's written.

As a parent I can see the appeal and also enjoy the stories. I would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic -

My 7-year-old son loves these books. He has actually read a few chapters by himself which is unheard of. They are the first set of books he has really been excited by. Stories of a group of children in junior school with over active imaginations - he loves them.
