Enid Blyton's 1st Christmas -

A lovely book to introduce the little ones to stories from the Bible!

A cracking Christmas gift -

I bought this for a family friend over Christmas and she loved it (as did her parents). It's full of charmingly traditional writing and the illustrations are stunning.

Disappointingly Sectarian -

I wouldn't have thought Enid Blyton had a theological axe to grind, but she does. She doesn't so much as depart from the original text, as give all the stories her own slant and glosses. If you're a Low Church Anglican and think the Eucharist is merely a symbol then you'll have no problems with this book - yes Enid Blyton actually offers this in her own Zwinglian commentary on the Last Supper, among other things - but if you're a High-Church Anglican, or Catholic, or Orthodox give this book a very wide berth.
