A Radio 2 Book Club Winter Pick, The Stranger Diaries is a captivating and contemporary Gothic thriller that combines the unsettling tone of Susan Hill with the darkness of Gone Girl.

Clare Cassidy is a literature teacher specialising in the Gothic writer R.M. Holland. Her work and life tragically collide when one of her colleagues is found dead with a line from an R.M. Holland story by her body.

The investigating police detective is convinced the writer's works hold the key to the case. Clare has no idea who she can trust and fears the killer is someone she knows. As a way of coping, she writes her fears and suspicions in her journal. But then she notices someone else has been writing in her diary...

Page turner -

Have read some of the authors books from the Ruth Galloway series and Mephisto series. This is a new story, new characters and a great read with a good twist at the end!! Really enjoyed it.

The Stranger Diaries -

Best Elly Griffiths book I have read, a standalone story. A very interesting way of telling a compelling tale.

I devoured this book -

Crime with some classic gothic twists, I loved that you got various sides of the story from different viewpoints and all the clues were there to solve it but read herrings too.
