Stuart Turton's The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is the winner of the Costa First Novel Award 2018 and has drawn praise from the Guardian, Financial Times and Daily Telegraph.

An exciting fusion of Gosford Park, Groundhog Day, Black Mirror, Agatha Christie and a murder mystery party, this inventive story is set on the night that Evelyn Hardcastle died. But she doesn't die once...

Aiden - one of the guests summoned to Blackheath for the party - must solve her murder otherwise the day will repeat itself over and over again. Every time the day resets, Aiden wakes up in the body of a different guest - and someone is determined to prevent him from escaping Blackheath.

Unsettling! -

I found this book unsettling and quite dark - not what I was expecting from the blurb! It bore no resemblance to an Agatha Christie (for me): a plethora of characters and lots of twists so you need your wits about you to keep up with the plot! A clever read but not necessarily a pleasant one!

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle -

I loved this book!! The story sped along - concentration was necessary, but interesting characters - a plot with plenty of twists and turns kept me hooked. Am looking forward to the next Stuart Turton release!!
