Not complete editions -

Very disappointed with these. Had them for a year, and read them all now. Not complete books, some are small sections of books. Also the quality of paper used is extremely poor. These would never have been sold at £140. Or for more than £2 a book, at the most, Book People books are usually excellent, this was the first purchase I have made from them where I have felt short changed. Sorry, therefore only 1 star.

"Brilliant little paperbacks" -

Lovely selection of quirky, individual voices covering several centuries of views, anecdotes, advice and recipes. Great for the train or for presents.Only disappointment - if planning to give away, do note that they are not hardbacks. But still delightful. perhaps BP should amend the description?

TBP says: Hi Rosie, we have now amended the description to show they are not hardback. Thanks.

"Great presents" -

A brilliant collection of little books, much better and cheaper than thank you cards.

"Brilliant" -

As an ex-chef of 35 years, what a wonderful selection of unusual culinary gems. First book I read was Soyer's The Chef at War, worth £15 just for this. Ten out ten Book People.

"A Delicious Sampling of Historical Food Writing" -

I already own the Elizabeth David part of this collection, but the books themselves are beautifully designed, and naturally historically interesting.I am looking forward to reading and using the remainder of the collection, and giving it as a gift to my foodie friends.
