Perfect for fans of the TV dramatisation and BBC Radio 4 series, Elizabeth Jane Howard's Cazalets Chronicles is a thrilling yet charming five-book series of novels that follows the secrets and yearnings of the Cazalet family of Home Place, Sussex through three decades of middle-class life.

Beginning in 1937, the Cazalets Chronicles explores the affairs, passions and ambitions with magnificent period detail and poignant observation. From pre-war 1937 through to the Fifties, the three generations of the family experience love, loss, and, ultimately, life-altering change...

Beautifully written, engrossing and championed by the likes of Hilary Mantel, Elizabeth Jane Banks' Cazalets books demonstrate her unparalleled ability to open both readers' hearts and minds. And for this unbelievable price, you can enjoy the complete saga!

Utterly wonderful -

I completely agree with the reviewer who says she wishes there were five more. When I finish these five, I'm going to read everything else Elizabeth Jane Howard has written. They're rich, wonderfully written literary domestic novels of the sort that prize juries don't value but that readers recommend year after year after year.

An unexpected delight -

I didn't really expect to like these books, but to my surprise I devoured them right until the last volume. In short, a portrait of a family beginning in Edwardian England.

Disappointed -

I struggled halfway through the first book and gave up, this book made reading a chore not a pleasure, was very disappointed after the reviews.

A fantastic read -

I bought this set a while ago from Book People and am currently reading them. I'm totally hooked; the sort of books you don't want to put down. One book leads on to the next. A great read which I think would appeal to a wide range of tastes.

Best ever collection -

I am on the last few pages of the last book. I really don't want it to end. Each book has followed the previous very well. I have loved them. I hope at some time another will be written. The price for this collection is amazing. I would recommend them to all.
