Book People favourite M.C. Beaton brings us her latest Agatha Raisin mystery. This time around, Agatha will have to prove her innocence when a love rival turns up dead.

Therapist Jill Davent has recently arrived in the village of Carsely - and Agatha is not a fan. Not only is Jill dating Agatha's ex-husband James, but's she's also happy to share details of Agatha's less-than-savoury origins with the whole village.

Jill's also counselling a woman, Gwen Simple, who Agatha believes to be a murderer, despite having no proof. As Agatha tells anyone who listens that Jill is a charlatan who is better off dead, she's relieved when Jill takes offices in a nearby town. But when Jill is found strangled to death in this very office, Agatha finds herself the prime murder suspect. Can she use her sleuthing skills to figure out the identity of the real murderer?

More fantastic writing from M C Beaton! -

Agatha Raisin very almost nearly meets her own demise (again!) in this latest addition to the Agatha Raisin series by M C Beaton.

It has all the usual Agatha turmoils of a meeting a new man, most of the old characters, too - James Lacey makes an appearance, as well as good old Mrs Bloxby. And of course, not to mention there are murders!

Agatha is a detective who has a successful detective agency and always seems to find herself getting too close to the truth, this time she most definitely gets too close.....
